Trial Run

Ahead of our first live booking, we thought it'd be a good idea to check everything through on behalf of our clients by doing a full trial run. Conveniently, this came at the around the same time that Bella was going to be moving to a new yard so it was also important for us to see how she would load and experience the box, too.
As I may have already mentioned previously, Bella can be a little sassy at times, she's got a strong personality, and for us it was also important that she liked the box as much as we hope our clients will.
I'm very pleased to say that it went without a hitch, we put down some shavings and ensured she had a nice amount of enticing haylage in her hay net, and we allowed her some time to inspect the stall before she decided it was a nice place to be.
We have, in the past, had to move her a bit for less enjoyable journeys; a couple of times to the equine hospital, so her experiences of travel haven't always been entirely happy ones for her, even though they've all been for her benefit (she just doesn't always see it that way, which is understandable, I think).
With the stall camera on, we could see her as we drove, our daughter keeping a close eye on things as my husband drove, focusing on ensuring she had a very smooth ride. We were pleased to see that she spent her time munching on the haylage and looking at the view out of the window.
Unloading was simple and she walked off to meet her new friends, leaving Ian to clean out the stall and wash and disinfect it whilst we settled her in.
